Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry

Postdoctoral Scholar Positions

Overview: Postdoctoral scholar positions are available in the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry, a Phase-II Center for Chemical Innovation sponsored by the US National Science Foundation. Scholars will contribute to advancing Center collaborative efforts in chemical synthesis, application of analytical techniques, and computational modeling. The Center is a multi-institutional effort led by Oregon State University and the University of Oregon; positions are available across the participating institutions.

Description: Postdoctoral positions are available starting January 2012 in the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry.  Center research addresses basic aspects of solution-based inorganic nanoclusters and near atomic-level control of thin-film chemistry for applications ranging from energy to semiconductor processing.  The research is highly collaborative, and postdoctoral scholars will be expected to coordinate activities across multiple groups. See http://pages.uoregon.edu/grnchem/ for listing of PIs and descriptions of research activities.  Successful candidates will be expected to participate in professional-development activities in the Center, covering education, outreach, and innovation.  Qualified individuals should have a strong background in areas that overlap the mission of the Center.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Chemistry or related field
